Welcome to Mid State Dental, the office of Drs. Grater, Williams and Sandusky!

Dear Patient:

We hope you and your families are staying healthy and safe. With the process of re-opening underway, we want to update you on the status of our office. Our office is following the infection control recommendations from the CDC and the PA Department of Health. We have always followed strict disinfection and sterilization protocols and we continue to be vigilant during these risky times.

Even though we are always wearing PPE and taking universal precaution, the staff has adjusted the normal routine to accommodate the new threat of COVID-19. Some of the adjustments are as follows:

  • Staff will now wear jackets (or disposable gowns), N95 masks (or KN95) and face shields with each and every patient to prevent the spread of infectious disease
  • In between every patient we are spraying all surfaces, as well as, the air in every room with disinfectant and allowing adequate contact time to properly kill any virus or bacteria that may have settled from airborne origin
  • We are thoroughly wiping all surfaces with disinfectant to ensure no surface has been missed
  • HEPA air filters have been added to properly circulate and filter the air in each room
  • All staff and patients will have their temperature taken daily in order to screen for illness

It is our mission to ensure your time with us is as safe as possible from all and any infectious disease. We hope we can mitigate any concern you may have and if you have more questions please don’t hesitate to call.

On a more positive note, we are delighted to inform you that construction on the office is moving along well and with it, our new waiting room is large, spacious and more ideal for social distancing. We are asking that you do a few things prior to coming to our office to protect yourself and others. We encourage all patients to wear a face mask when entering and sitting in the waiting area. We will be screening all patients for temperature to ensure they have no fever. Finally, we ask that before you enter, please review the following questions:

  1. Are you feeling sick with a fever, cough, sore throat or difficulty breathing?
  2. Have you come in contact with or are you living with someone that has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
  3. In the past 14 days have you traveled to a location with a high incidence of COVID-19 cases and may have been exposed to an infected person?

If you answer yes to any of these questions please call us ahead of time. We will assess the urgency of your dental needs and make a decision as to the risk and benefits of seeing you in the office that day.

It goes without saying a lot of routine dental care was postponed during the government shut down. We thank you for your patience during that time. We are aware that the PA Department of Health has allowed routine, non-emergent dental care to resume as of June 3rd, however, we will resume routine care on June 23rd. This allows us proper time to train the staff that has been away for the past few months. If you already have a scheduled appointment and you are not able to come, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can effectively schedule our time with all patients. Once again, thank you for your continued patience. Stay healthy and safe!

Best Wishes,

Dr. Grater, Dr. Williams, Dr. Sandusky and Staff
